Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2025
Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria concerning
nationality, age, and education.
Nationality
A candidate
must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of
Indian origin who has migrated from select countries with the intention of
permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualifications (as on
August 1, 2025)

Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s
Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at the 12th-grade
level, OR a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects at the
degree level.
·
Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s
Degree with Statistics as a subject in all three years or all six semesters of
the degree course.
·
All other Posts: A Bachelor’s Degree from a
recognized University or equivalent.
·
Candidates
in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they
possess the essential qualification on or before August 1, 2025.
How to Apply for SSC CGL 2025
The application process is entirely online.
1. One-Time
Registration (OTR): Candidates
must first complete the OTR process on the new official SSC website:
[https://ssc.gov.in/]. The old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not
valid.
2. Fill Application
Form: After OTR, log in and fill out the online application form for the
Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025.
3. Live Photograph: The
application module requires capturing a live photograph from a webcam. Ensure good lighting, a plain background, and a clear frontal view
without a cap, mask, or spectacles.
4. Upload Signature: A scanned
signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB) must be uploaded.
5. Fee Payment: The
application fee is ₹100. Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM candidates are exempt from the fee. Payment can be made online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit
Cards.
Application Correction
A
window for application form correction will be available from July 9, 2025, to
July 11, 2025. A correction charge of ₹200 will be levied for the first
modification and ₹500 for the second.
Selection Process
The examination will be conducted in two tiers:

Tier-I: A computer-based examination
consisting of objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
·
Tier-II: A computer-based examination
which includes Paper-I (compulsory for all posts) and Paper-II (for candidates
applying for JSO and Statistical Investigator posts). 45

Negative Marking: In Tier-II, there will be a
penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, II, and III of Paper-I,
and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.

Qualifying Papers: The Computer
Knowledge Test (Section-III) and Data Entry Speed Test (Section-IV) are
qualifying in nature. However, a higher qualifying
standard will be set for posts requiring computer proficiency.
The
final merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance in the
Tier-II Examination only.
Physical Standards for Specific Posts
Certain posts like Inspector (CBIC, CBN), Sub-Inspector (CBI, NIA, CBN),
and posts in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have mandatory physical and
medical standards.
For Inspector (Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer) & Inspector in CBN:

(relaxable); Chest: 81 cm (expanded).

Female: Height: 152 cm
(relaxable); Weight: 48 kg (relaxable).
For
Sub-Inspector in CBI:
