Vacancy and Salary Details

The recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 3131 tentative vacancies. The firm number of post-wise and category-wise vacancies will be updated on the Commission's website in due course.

The pay scale for the offered posts is as follows:

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200).
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Pay Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300).
  • Data Entry Operator, Grade 'A': Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100).

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL 2025

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria regarding nationality, age, and education before applying.

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specific countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit (as of 01-01-2026)

  • The required age for the posts is 18-27 years.
  • Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-01-1999 and not later than 01-01-2008 to be eligible.
  • The crucial date for age calculation is set as January 1, 2026.

Educational Qualification (as of 01-01-2026)

  • For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ in specific Ministries (Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution; Culture; and Staff Selection Commission): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  • For LDC/JSA and other DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts: Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • Candidates who have appeared for their 12th Standard exam can also apply, provided they possess the essential qualification on or before the cut-off date of 01-01-2026.

Physical Standards for LDC in Border Roads Organization (BRO)

  • Candidates opting for the post of Lower Division Clerk in BRO must meet specific Physical Efficiency, Physical, and Medical Standards.
  • These tests include a one-mile run to be completed within 10 minutes.
  • Region-wise physical standards (height, chest, weight) are detailed in the official notification.
  • It is important to note that only male candidates are eligible for any vacancies reported in the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

Application Process

How to Apply

  1. Applications must be submitted exclusively in online mode on the new SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in/.
  2. Candidates who have not created a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website must do so first. The old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not functional on the new site.
  3. The application module is designed to capture a live photograph of the candidate. Ensure good lighting, a plain background, and a clear frontal view without caps, masks, or spectacles.
  4. Upload a scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB).
  5. Before final submission, candidates must use the "Preview/Print" option to verify all details.

Application Fee

  • The application fee is Rs. 100/-.
  • Exemption: Women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are exempted from fee payment.
  • The fee can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, and RuPay Debit cards until 19-07-2025 (23:00 hours).

Application Form Correction

  • A two-day "Window for Application Form Correction" will be available from July 23, 2025, to July 24, 2025 (23:00)
  • Candidates can correct and re-submit their applications up to two times.
  • A correction charge of ₹200 will be levied for the first submission and ₹500 for the second.

Skill Test and Typing Test Requirements

  • Skill Test (Qualifying): This is mandatory for all DEO candidates.
    • Part A (DEO in specific ministries): A speed of 15,000 key depressions per hour is required.
    • Part B (Other DEOs): A speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour is required.
  • Typing Test (Qualifying): For LDC/JSA posts.
    • English Medium: A typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) is required.
    • Hindi Medium: A typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.) is required.

Indicative Syllabus

  • Tier-I: The syllabus includes English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude (Number Systems, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry), and General Awareness.
  • Tier-II: The syllabus for Section I and II modules is more extensive than Tier-I, with the addition of Statistics and Probability in the Mathematical Abilities module. The Computer Knowledge Test syllabus covers computer basics, software (MS Office), internet/email usage, and basics of networking and cybersecurity.
