Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility norms as of the specified dates.
1. Essential Academic Qualification
- A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
- Qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, and Cost Accountant are also eligible.
2. Experience (as on 30.04.2025)
- A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank.
- Candidates must submit a job profile certified by their employer, which should substantially match the job profile of a Scale-I Generalist Officer at SBI.
3. Age Limit (as on 30.04.2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Candidates must have been born not later than 30.04.2004 and not earlier than 01.05.1995.

4. Local Language Proficiency
- Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, and understanding) in one of the specified local languages of the circle they are applying for.
- A language proficiency test will be conducted for provisionally selected candidates before joining.
- Candidates who have studied the specified local language as a subject in their 10th or 12th standard are exempted from this test.
Salary and Emoluments
- Starting Basic Pay: ₹48,480/- with 2 advance increments for the experience of 2 years or more.
- Pay Scale: 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920
- Allowances: The official will be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, PF, Contributory Pension Fund (NPS), LFC, Medical Facility, and other allowances as per rules.
Selection Process
The selection process for SBI CBO involves four stages:
- Online Examination: Comprising objective and descriptive tests.
- Screening: Applications of qualified candidates will be screened by a committee to verify experience and job profile suitability.
- Interview: The interview will carry 50 marks.
- Local Language Proficiency Test: For candidates who do not have proof of studying the local language in 10th/12th standard.
Exam Pattern for Online Test
The online test has a total of 170 marks and a duration of 2.5 hours.
(i) Objective Test (120 Marks, 2 Hours):

Important Note: There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests, and sectional marks will not be maintained.
Final Selection
The final merit list will be prepared based on the normalization of marks obtained in the Online Test and Interview, with a weightage of 75:25, respectively. Candidates must qualify in both the online test and the interview separately to be considered for the final selection.
